At Superscape Landscape, we use a biodegradable, Hydraulic Mulch (HM) composed of 100% recycled Thermally Refined™ wood fibers for hydroseeding and to protect our environment. The HM is phyto-sanitized, free from plastic netting, and upon application forms an intimate bond with the soil surface to create a porous and absorbent layer that enhances germination and plant growth.

What is HydroSeeding?

HydroSeeding (sometimes referred to as hydraulic mulch seeding, hydro-mulching, or hydraseeding) is a planting process in which a slurry containing seed, hydroseeding mulch, fertilizer, and a tackifier (bonding agent) is sprayed onto the ground – if you’ve ever seen bare ground covered with a neon green solution, that’s hydroseeding.

The slurry is transported in a truck or trailer mounted tank to the job site and sprayed over prepared ground in a uniform layer. In remote areas, HydroSeeding is sometimes also done using a helicopter. HydroSeeding offers many advantages to the traditional process of broadcasting or sowing dry seed. It promotes quick germination and inhibits soil erosion. It is also a very cost effective alternative to sod and offers significant cost savings as well as many other benefits.
